"I have a twelve year old son who is an avid soccer player. I had built a homemade net from PVC (roughly 5x10) and purchased netting from Epic Sports to use with that. That version lasted two full seasons, so I was happy with that. The timing could not have worked out better as the PVC net broke two days before the new net arrived. Years of hard shots broke and elbow joint finally. This net is quite robust. For the price I was not sure what to expect, but it is an excellent net for shooting around the yard. It is short (well... it's exactly six feet) compared to regulation, of course, but it is very well built. It was incredibly easy to set up and although incredibly strong, my twelve year old can pull one side at a time and move it from the bark mulch to the grass (trying to avoid permanent lines in the grass!) when he wants to practice. The cross bar does not sag even though the span is a full 18 feet. Two poles nest far inside a third middle pole to give the crossbar a good amount of rigidity and heft. The net will take a very hard shot as I (an adult) have smashed a few balls in to the poles and the structure shrugged it off. I ended up buying a custom sized netting (sorry, not from Epic) as a back stop to this net. Missed shots are always a pain in the neck so I found a company online that manufactures custom sized nets and I had them build a 13' x 42' net for me. I use a simple pulley system to lift the backstop when we practice and take it down when we are done. The backdrop netting hides in the bark mulch when not in use so nobody knows it is there. Great construction, great price, easy to set up, looks to be made for years of use. Well worth a buy if you are looking for a bigger backyard net. " (E1846)
