They are thin enough to wear over another pair iof socks to keep a solid color for the umpire uniform and to control body temperature for in hot weather.For me they worked out well to where as an overlay for cotton socks without overheating in mild weather, and cushioning for comfort while standing on the field.

I was almost unsure when I purchased these, since the price was a steal. When the product arrived I was extremely satisfied. The socks are a very good quality, very thick not thin. Our softball team is 12u and I purchased Youth Large. The socks, in this size, are long but this is a good thing just in case they shrink in the dryer and since the girls are growing. Color is spot on, I purchased the purple socks. I would highly recommend this product.
